Elevate Your Writing with WeCWIIS Proofreading, Editing, Translation, and Formatting Services

Updated: Apr 23

Everyone can write, and it may seem like an easy task. However, for some people, it may not. Though many writers can write well, it doesn't mean they can improve. I have many friends who are great writers; however, many still seek my help editing their work. Why shouldn't they even try? Based on my experiences as an author and editor, I have summarised the reasons into three main points.

An editor normally looks into grammar, spelling, and punctuation, sometimes including content revision (content editing) and typography (copy editing). Grammarly is a widely used application for spelling, grammar, and plagiarism checking, which is essential for language editing. After editing, proofreading is the next step to review typos, spacing, and formatting issues before submission.

A translator is needed when the writer intends to compose an article in another target language. Whether you are an academic, researcher, grant holder, or postgraduate student, hiring a professional editor or subscribing to an editing service provider such as WeCWIIS is always recommended. This can help you deliver your complex idea effectively before publishing it.

A. Self-Editing?

Human minds possess a finite capacity, like vessels that can only hold so much before overflowing. When we write, we transform our thoughts into carefully chosen words, creating a tapestry for readers to engage with. The act of writing and the meticulous editing process are like two dancers, each with its rhythm and movement. When we become emotionally invested in our work, the distinction between creation and revision blurs, making it hard to manage both tasks simultaneously.

Second, overconfidence often leads to the misguided belief that editing is a trivial step, easily overlooked. Many writers bask in the glow of their creations, convinced that their work is almost flawless. However, perfection is a myth; neither the most skilled writer nor countless hours of hard work can achieve it. It is a reminder that every piece of writing deserves the scrutiny of editing, revealing its true potential.

Writing a good article can be a challenging task. It requires a significant investment of time, can be tiring, and demands a certain skill level. You might feel exhausted when reading your work, depending on how much effort you have put into writing. This fatigue may make you want to rush through the editing process, but that approach won't allow you to edit with the necessary motivation and focus.
