A persuasive speech is seen as a mental dialogue with the audience. You try to put yourself in the audience's place, imagine how they will respond, anticipate their objections, and address them in the speech. There are three types of persuasive speeches: questions of fact, questions of value, and questions of policy. The two types of speeches on policy questions are those that seek passive agreement and those that seek immediate action.
