Crafting a Compelling Evaluative Commentary

An argumentative article is an article in which arguments are supported by facts, data, and examples about both sides of an issue, depending on the author and which side he or she supports the most. An evaluative commentary is written based on an argumentative article as a critical review or evaluation of the text. An excellent evaluative commentary must demonstrate language accuracy, unity, coherence, and cohesion of ideas through proper planning, paragraphing, and the use of discourse markers or transitions.
